Seghesio (375ml) 2018, Sonoma Zinfandel

Red, New World, Zinfandel from California, USA

Seghesio Family Vineyards’ roots are firmly planted in Zinfandel, as the founder, Edoardo Seghesio, first planted this historic varietal on their Alexander Valley Home Ranch in 1895. Today, they share his passion as they farm Zinfandel in Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. This wine combines sites that have produced Zinfandel for over a century with newer sites that utilize proprietary clones and the most advanced viticultural practices.

92 points - Wine Spectator - Smart Buy “An excellent wine from a challenging vintage, with aromas of black cherry and spice opening to rich wild berry, mineral and toasty sage flavors that wrap around a concentrated core of acidity and tannins. Best from 2015 through 2021.” — Tim Fish

90 points- California Grapevine - February 2013 Issue “Medium to medium-dark ruby; attractive, moderately intense, spicy, briary, raspberry and wild berry fruit aroma with hints of black pepper, vanilla, and toasty oak; full body; forward, rich, plush, briary, red and black fruit flavors; medium-full to full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Easy and enjoyable to drink now. Very highly recommended.”.

Seghesio is rated as a 4 star producer by Robert Parker. He gives all their single vineyard Zinfandels 90+ scores.

Seghesio Family Vineyards is a certified "Sustainable Winegrower" and farms organically. In 2011 Seghesio became part of the Crimson Wine Group, a public company investing in boutique wineries of which they currently own 5.
