Red Tasting Pack - Pinot Noir & Shiraz - 4 half bottles and video guide

Compare old world and new world pinot and shiraz

Pinot Noir and Shiraz (or syrah as it is often called) are the other two great grapes of France;  they are planted in the Saone / Rhone valley between Dijon and Valence; pinot in the north and shiraz in the south.  This pack compares old world and new world pinot and shiraz.  The benchmark new world Pinot comes from New Zealand whilst new world Shiraz comes from Australia or California.

The difference between the new and old world wines is dramatic; the difference between cultivars perhaps less so.

As in all tasting packs, the wines included are those that are currently available individually. Click here to see the wines included.

A downloadable 10 minute video guide to the wines is included. Also included are tasting notes about what to expect from these types of wines that have been copied (with permission) from Susy Atkins' book on pages 123, 39 & 82. Click here for a copy of these pages.
