Louis Jadot (375ml), 2017, Macon Villages

White, Old World, Chardonnay from Burgundy

In 1985, in order to ensure the company's future, Madame Jadot decided to sell the company to the family of Rudy Kopf, Jadot's US importer.

In order to achieve the best possible quality they have, for the past 20 years, banished all use of synthetic products (fertilisers, herbicides, etc) on their vineyards soils and have taken up traditional practices instead. Their work is done either by tractor or, for the most inaccessible vineyards, by horse. They don't work their soil deeply but prefer to concentrate on surface actions in order to preserve its innate structure. They encourage our vines to grow their roots in such a way as to enable them to mine the soil's minerality.

The Mâcon Villages area is located in the southern part of Burgundy, close to the Beaujolais area. The wines are made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The limestone subsoil of the Monts du Mâconnais are ideal for growing the Chardonnay grapes. Some small areas produce exceptional wines. The Louis Jadot Mâcon Blanc Villages is made from grapes from these different areas. The Mâcon Blanc Villages is vinified in stainless steel tanks in order to extract the maximum floral and fruity aromas and freshness.

Dry and easy to drink, lively and charming, this is a fruity wine with a floral scent and a hint of lemon, the Mâcon Villages should be drunk chilled and rather young.
